Feb. 23, 2012

Yearbook deadline is in a couple days and Bob just gave us access to the server so its crunch time. I spent 14 hours in the office yesterday. Dion came by for five or so hours, Leah came by for an hour or so, and then after dinner Lizzi came by for a few too. I had the lab full of people working. We have campus life pretty much done, same with athletics. I had to create duotones for the front pictures, place pictures, edit pictures, edit copy, and layout pages. We should be totally finished tonight if we work like we did last night. I am so proud of the effort and excitement Dion is putting into it. I know he'll understand all the camera stuff by the time he's in intro to broadcast.

I have been in the Interlachen office a lot but I forgot to blog the hours. I just wanted you to know that there has been a lot of work being done. Since Saturday I have worked on the yearbook for for 12 hours getting all the pictures done and fixing some big mistakes. Olivia put our group shots on facebook so we can't use them anymore. I have try get this fixed by Sunday, our picture deadline. It really is upsetting. Also last night I took Dion to his first theater shoot which lasted 5 ridiculously long hours. He's learning for next year for the photo editor position. I feel that he maybe was a little too nervous to do it because he took over 900 pictures. I let him go through all mine and his so that he can get some experience with stage lighting and more familiar with processing pictures.

Feb. 5, 2012

This week has been a tough week for me personally with a lot of things going on but I still managed to get a few hours. I had to take pictures of the Comm teachers, the psych club, and the leadership staff of Wesley. During the week we had a camera scare because the cameras were both unaccounted for a one point. Found them and turns out that the same person who had one of the cameras is the same one that had the WTV one when we needed it too. I'm not going to let her check out a camera anymore. Nya has stepped up and has been doing great pictures and is really up for learning. I'm proud of her. Same with Dion. Soon Dion will learn the how to do play pictures and working with the lighting and what not.

With WTV this week I interviewed three people and shot broll by myself. I had to do the stand up by myself and asked my friend to hit the play button once I was in place. My partner fell through on all the shoots. She came by to get the camera after that and shoot broll but I never saw the camera again. Unfortunately the package wasn't done on time. Everything is edited and fixed, I just need to plug in the broll to cover the jump cuts. It took longer because the computer crashed when Michelle tried to do something and it erased my work. She was having a rough day that day but she showed me the lower thirds and everything she changed and it looks good.
